Meet The Beauty Queen Behind The Cover Of The Latest Issue Of StarCentral Magazine: The Inspirational Jessica Lane

In 2024, a new chapter in Australia’s environmental and cultural history was written when Jessica Lane, a Queensland-based journalism student and passionate advocate for sustainability, made global headlines. On 11 August 2024, inside Sydney’s Bryan Brown Theatre, Lane achieved what no Queenslander had ever done before — winning the title of Miss Earth Australia 2024. Yet her victory on home soil was just the beginning. Only three months later, standing beneath the dazzling lights of Okada Manila and competing against more than 75 delegates from around the world, Lane captured the Miss Earth 2024 crown — the first in Australian history. With this historic win, Australia joined an elite group of nations to have claimed all four major international pageant titles: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth.

It was a triumph that transcended pageantry. Lane’s story is one of intelligence, activism, and unwavering purpose — a story that continues to inspire a generation seeking to redefine what leadership and beauty mean in the modern age.

Born in Melbourne and raised in Queensland, Lane has always been drawn to storytelling and environmental stewardship. She is currently pursuing a degree in journalism, creative writing, and publishing at the University of the Sunshine Coast, determined to use her voice as an environmental journalist to raise awareness and drive change. Her advocacy began long before she wore a crown. At just eight years old, she launched her first fundraiser to end animal testing. By 18, she had shaved her head to raise nearly $10,000 for leukaemia patients. These early acts of empathy and conviction formed the foundation of her lifelong mission to amplify causes that matter.

Lane’s Miss Earth platform focuses on marine conservation, a cause that has become increasingly critical as ocean ecosystems face mounting threats. Her campaign, supported by organisations such as Nets Out Now and Sea Shepherd, calls for the removal of shark nets along Queensland’s coastline — a practice that unintentionally traps and kills whales, turtles, and dolphins. Her environmental commitment also extends to the fashion industry, where she champions sustainability through her charity, Dress for Tomorrow. The organisation promotes ethical consumption, circular fashion, and the reduction of textile waste, showcasing how fashion can evolve from a source of pollution to a platform for environmental good.

Her advocacy blends creativity and science, emotion and evidence — reflecting her multidisciplinary outlook. During her time in the Philippines, Lane endured six typhoons yet remained steadfast, joining turtle care programs, relief operations, and environmental education campaigns. She turned her stage appearances into acts of activism, wearing gowns made from recycled materials and marine-inspired designs that symbolised ocean resilience. Every performance was a statement that beauty, when aligned with purpose, can be a catalyst for awareness.

Beyond the pageant stage, Lane’s work has taken her from youth sustainability forums in Indonesia to policy discussions at the United Nations in New York and advocacy meetings in Washington DC. Her global experiences have positioned her as a leading youth voice for climate action and a bridge between local communities and international organisations.

Her philosophy of leadership is rooted in empowerment and authenticity. Through Dress for Tomorrow, she aims to expand her impact globally by building partnerships with NGOs, advocating for ethical fashion supply chains, and launching international petitions to end destructive fishing practices. She believes that individual actions can create ripple effects for the planet — that by influencing how people buy, produce, and consume, we can reshape industries harming our oceans and ecosystems.

Lane identifies the collapse of biodiversity as the most urgent environmental issue of our time. Australia’s rapid rate of species extinction underscores her call for an end to destructive trawl fishing and deforestation, alongside a national transition to renewable energy. She believes that meaningful change comes not only from governments but from individuals who decide that the planet’s health is worth fighting for.

Her approach to pageantry and environmentalism demonstrates that glamour and advocacy are not opposites but powerful allies. Sustainable gowns become conversation starters, and a crown becomes a tool to amplify causes. Through her social media platforms, she uses storytelling, educational content, and human connection to make sustainability more accessible. By blending creativity and education, she encourages people to take small, consistent steps toward change.

Her travels as Miss Earth exposed her to both the fragility and resilience of human and natural communities. Visiting underprivileged areas and witnessing pollution firsthand strengthened her commitment to her cause. She observed how joy and resilience persisted despite hardship — a powerful reminder that hope often thrives in the simplest places.

Lane’s message to those feeling powerless in the face of climate change is clear: small actions matter. She believes that action creates momentum, and momentum creates change.

Looking ahead, Lane envisions her reign as Miss Earth 2024 as only the beginning of her journey. She aims to leave a legacy of empowerment — one that inspires communities to take ownership of conservation, reimagines fashion as a sustainable art form, and makes environmental storytelling a mainstream force for change. She intends to continue as a journalist and advocate, using every platform available to champion the planet.

In an era where global action is often hindered by politics and apathy, Jessica Lane represents a rare blend of intellect, artistry, and integrity. Her victory stands as a landmark for Australian pageantry and a reminder that when beauty and purpose unite, they can become a powerful force for transformation. From Queensland’s shores to the world stage, she embodies the idea that true influence lies not in appearance, but in the impact one makes for the greater good.

Meet The Model Behind The Cover Of The Latest Issue Of StarCentral Magazine: The Stunning Natarsha Haddad

At just 19 years old, Natarsha Haddad is rewriting the rulebook for what it means to be a modern multi-hyphenate. An artist, model, and aspiring lawyer, she’s proving that ambition doesn’t fit neatly into a single box. With a microphone in one hand and a law textbook in the other, Haddad embodies a new generation of Australian talent—one that refuses to choose between creativity and intellect, glamour and grit.

Her latest triumph as Miss Runway Supermodel Australia 2025, produced by Regal Star Productions, has solidified her status as one of the country’s most promising young figures in fashion and entertainment. In a clean sweep that stunned both judges and audiences, Haddad not only claimed the coveted title but also took home Best in Swimwear and Best in Evening Gown—a testament to her poise, confidence, and commanding stage presence.

Yet, for Haddad, the runway was never the starting line. Her creative journey began at just 13, when she started writing and producing her own music. What began as a personal outlet for storytelling quickly evolved into something much bigger. Her sound—honest, raw, and genre-blending—caught the attention of major brands early on. By 15, she was collaborating with Nike and JD Sports, a remarkable milestone for a teenager still navigating school life. These early partnerships not only showcased her authenticity but also revealed her natural ability to merge artistry with commercial appeal.

Her recent win has amplified her influence beyond the runway. As the new Miss Runway Supermodel Australia, Haddad graces the cover of StarCentral Magazine, where her story unfolds as a masterclass in ambition and authenticity. She’s candid about the pressures of competition, the mental challenges of self-doubt, and the importance of confidence that comes from self-acceptance rather than perfection. “The moment they said my name,” she reflects, “it felt like the world paused for a second. Every dream, every blister, every early morning—it all made sense.”

Haddad’s poise and humility are matched by her intelligence and social awareness. Currently pursuing a law degree, she approaches her dual pursuits with the same mindset that has defined her success so far: purpose-driven ambition. Whether in the courtroom or on the catwalk, she wants to use her voice to advocate for empowerment, diversity, and representation in industries that often lack all three.

Her advice to aspiring models is both grounded and inspiring: “Don’t wait for permission to shine. Start where you are, use what you have, and trust that your uniqueness is your superpower. Rejection is part of the sparkle-building process—keep learning, stay kind, and let your light lead the way.”

In fashion, Haddad’s style mirrors her personality—bold yet elegant, fearless yet refined. She describes it as “chic with a wink,” a reflection of her playful self-assurance. Throughout the competition, she leaned into risk-taking, experimenting with silhouettes and tones that expressed her evolution not just as a model, but as a young woman coming into her own.

Now, fresh off her national win, Haddad’s career is on a fast track to international acclaim. She’s in talks for campaign work with global brands including UGG, and preparing for appearances on the international runway circuit, with shows lined up in the Middle East, one of the fastest-growing regions for avant-garde fashion. Beyond modelling, she’s developing a digital series offering a behind-the-scenes look at the modelling world—highlighting mentorship, self-growth, and the realities behind the glamour.

Every generation has a few names that capture its zeitgeist, and Natarsha Haddad is fast becoming one of them. With her rare blend of beauty, intellect, and authenticity, she’s not just walking runways—she’s paving them. For a young woman whose story has only just begun, one thing is clear: this crown isn’t a finish line. It’s the first chapter in what promises to be an extraordinary career defined by creativity, courage, and purpose.

Meet The Entrepreneur Behind The Cover Of The Latest Issue Of StarCentral Magazine: The Inspirational Monisha Sami

In a world where entertainment dominates, Monisha Sami – a criminologist, entrepreneur, and reigning Miss Millennium Universe International and Miss Millennium Universe Culture 2024, is blending education, entertainment, and social impact to launch StoryCloud.com.au – a groundbreaking storytelling platform designed to engage young minds in a meaningful way.

A Passion for Storytelling

For Monisha, storytelling has always been more than just entertainment. As a child, books were a constant source of comfort and curiosity. Many nights were spent reading under the covers well past bedtime, often earning her quiet scoldings for choosing stories over sleep.

That early love of books naturally evolved into a deeper interest in people and their behaviour. With a strong interest in applied sociology, Monisha saw an opportunity to use storytelling as a tool to positively influence children’s social development, values, and behaviour – bridging entertainment and education to make a broader, lasting impact.

“My goal is to create stories that don’t just entertain but also teach values – kindness, empathy, environmental stewardship, and problem-solving,” she explains. “Children absorb so much from the media they consume, and I want StoryCloud to be a positive force in shaping young minds.”

This mission inspired the creation of StoryCloud, an innovative platform that combines illustrated video content with interactive storytelling. Backed by childhood learning experts, StoryCloud isn’t just another kids’ entertainment platform – it’s a learning experience wrapped in adventure.

A Crown with a Cause

Monisha is using her status to promote education, social cohesion, and the power of storytelling. Her titles represent more than just personal achievement – they symbolise a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and creating positive change.

“We believe storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have to shape the next generation,” she shares. “With StoryCloud, I want to bridge cultural understanding, encourage curiosity, and give children access to stories that help them navigate the world with kindness and confidence.”

Her dual pageant titles have provided her with a global platform to advocate for these values, allowing her to connect with communities, educators, and parents worldwide.

Behind the Scenes of StoryCloud:

Creating StoryCloud has been a journey filled with creativity, research and careful planning. Every story is designed with both fun and education in mind, ensuring that children enjoy the content, but also gain valuable life lessons.

One of the biggest challenges has been striking the right balance between entertainment and learning.

“Children won’t engage if something feels too much like schoolwork, but at the same time, we want every story to impart educational value,” Monisha explains. “We’ve spent a lot of time making sure that the storytelling is immersive first and educational second – so children absorb the lessons naturally while enjoying the adventure. “

Another challenge has been developing an engaging, visually appealing format that stands out in today’s saturated digital space. With a unique mix of animated illustrations and interactive elements, StoryCloud is designed to compete with the fast-paced world of children’s media while staying true to its educational mission.

The Magic of Storyland

At the heart of StoryCloud is Storyland, a whimsical world where animal and fantasy characters embark on exciting adventures, meet unique characters and explore different environments. Kai the Australian Shepherd serves as a guide, leading children through captivating narratives that explore topics like respect, curiosity, and basic life skills.

Unlike traditional children’s media, StoryCloud avoids human characters to prevent stereotypes and ensure universal relatability. Instead, each character – whether it’s Ollie the Octopus, Captain Finn the Fairy Penguin, or the friendly creatures of Burrowdale and Starlight City – brings unique cultural and educational elements into the stories.

One of the newest additions to Storyland is Cyber the Arctic Fox, a tech-savvy and resourceful fox who helps young readers explore technology, problem-solving, critical thinking, and the wonders of the Arctic. Cyber’s adventures teach children about resilience, teamwork, the importance of innovation, and staying safe in a rapidly changing world.

“We wanted to create a world that feels magical yet meaningful,” Monisha shares. “Every story is carefully crafted to entertain while subtly reinforcing important values and real-world lessons.”

Bridging Education and Entertainment

StoryCloud covers essential safety topics like water and road safety, digital safety and kindness towards animals, ensuring children gain practical knowledge while enjoying their favourite characters’ adventures.

Monisha credits her incredible team and advisors for bringing the vision to life. The platform is supported by a diverse group of experts from high-profile organisations, including educational designers, technology and design partners, marketing and business strategists, illustrators, videographers, and educational advisors. This collaborative effort ensures that every aspect of StoryCloud is thoughtfully designed to captivate young minds.

A New Era of Children’s Storytelling is Coming

With a bold vision and a growing platform, Monisha is positioning StoryCloud as an emerging force in children’s digital edutainment. StoryCloud is exploring funding opportunities, collaborations, and gearing up for its launch party later this year, in the Nation’s Capital.

StoryCloud is already capturing attention, and with the upcoming platform launch, followed by the mobile app rollout, excitement is quickly building. Designed to be intuitive, immersive, and content-rich, the mobile app will offer families and educators a seamless way to journey through Storyland anytime, anywhere. As the collection of stories continues to grow, StoryCloud is working towards becoming a trusted resource for homes and classrooms across Australia.

Beyond the business, Monisha remains deeply committed to the social impact of her work. “At the end of the day, I want children to feel the same joy and sense of wonder that I did when I first discovered books,” she reflects. “If StoryCloud can inspire curiosity, kindness, and lifelong learning, then we’ve done something truly special.”

As StoryCloud prepares for its next phase, one thing is certain – this is just the beginning of a storytelling revolution.

Introducing The Rising Star Behind The Cover Of The Latest Issue Of StarCentral Magazine: Riley Aston-Kampioti

Riley is redefining what it means to be a modern beauty queen—where purpose, passion, and influence intersect to create meaningful change. As Miss Eco International Oceania 2024, Miss Earth Australia Water 2022, and Miss Earth Australia Water 2017, she has built a legacy that extends well beyond crowns and titles. Her achievements are grounded in advocacy for sustainability, community empowerment, and the performing arts—fields that collectively reflect her commitment to making the world a better, more conscious place.

From a remarkably young age, Riley has demonstrated an authentic commitment to sustainability. Having embraced a plant-based lifestyle since the age of six, she embodies the principles of ethical living and environmental stewardship. Yet her advocacy doesn’t stop at personal choice—she has become a vocal champion for conscious consumerism, particularly within the fashion industry. In an era dominated by fast fashion and throwaway culture, Riley’s influence lies in her ability to merge style with sustainability. Through public speaking, social campaigns, and her own example, she encourages individuals and brands to choose eco-friendly materials, invest in ethical labels, and adopt circular fashion practices such as upcycling and second-hand shopping. Her message is clear: environmental responsibility and elegance are not mutually exclusive—they are mutually reinforcing.

Riley’s impact also extends deeply into the realm of philanthropy. Her extensive volunteer work spans numerous causes, with a particular focus on empowering women, supporting school children, and assisting the homeless. She has aligned herself with respected organisations such as Dress for Success, ReLove, Dementia Australia, and the Children’s Cancer Institute, using her visibility to draw attention to critical social issues. Through these partnerships, she has not only provided practical support to vulnerable communities but also leveraged her platform to amplify the voices of those often unheard. Her brand of leadership blends compassion with action, setting an example for how public figures can transform influence into tangible, community-focused outcomes.

Internationally, Riley has represented Australia on the global stage across four major pageants, consistently placing among the top contenders and earning accolades such as Miss Friendship and Miss Oceania. Her consistent success is a reflection of more than beauty or stage presence—it’s her ability to connect, communicate, and lead. In each competition, Riley has used her platform to advance her environmental and humanitarian advocacy, ensuring that conversations around sustainability and social responsibility remain at the forefront of international dialogue.

Outside of her environmental and charitable endeavours, Riley’s love for the performing arts adds another dimension to her multifaceted career. A gifted singer and actress, she brings a magnetic energy to every stage she graces. Her background in performance enhances her work as an advocate—helping her to engage audiences with authenticity and confidence. Whether she’s delivering a keynote, performing before an audience, or mentoring young advocates, her natural presence ensures that her message resonates long after the spotlight fades.

Riley’s journey is ultimately one of evolution—transforming pageantry into a platform for progress. In an age where influence carries responsibility, she represents the next generation of changemakers who blend glamour with grit, and advocacy with artistry. Her story underscores a simple but powerful truth: beauty is not defined by appearance but by impact. Through her work in sustainability, charity, and the arts, Riley continues to set new benchmarks for purpose-driven leadership, proving that with vision and heart, one person can indeed make a global difference.

Meet StarCentral Magazine’s December 2024 Cover Models: How the ‘Fine 5’ Are Redefining Modelling and Influence

The fashion world has long been associated with glamour, aesthetics, and the pursuit of perfection. But the industry is evolving. Today, modelling is as much about purpose, leadership, and individuality as it is about beauty. The December 2024 issue of StarCentral Magazine captures this shift perfectly, showcasing five women who embody the resilience, innovation, and cultural pride driving fashion’s new era.

Representing Royalle Modelling, Melissa Stingley, Mia Sinclair, Isabella Czarnocki, Erin Ford, and Danika Ahern—collectively dubbed the “Fine 5”—bring distinct backgrounds and ambitions to the table. Together, they represent the transformation of modelling from a one-dimensional career into a platform for influence, entrepreneurship, and change.

Melissa Stingley: Turning Unexpected Detours into Opportunity

At 29, Melissa Stingley is proof that life’s detours can lead to remarkable destinations. Born in Germany to a German mother and an African American father, Stingley’s multicultural heritage has shaped her worldview and fuelled her adaptability.

Her journey to Australia was never meant to be permanent—just a year of exploration. But what began as a temporary stay evolved into a new life. Standing at 179 cm, Stingley entered modelling at 17, initially collaborating with photographers to build her portfolio. The real turning point came when she joined Royalle Modelling, which gave her career the lift it needed.

Today, Stingley represents resilience and reinvention. She is a reminder that success often emerges not from meticulous planning, but from the courage to embrace the unexpected.

Mia Sinclair: Building a Brand on Confidence and Authenticity

At only 20, Mia Sinclair is a rising force who brings more than striking looks to the industry—she brings authenticity. With Dutch and Māori heritage, Sinclair’s features reflect a blend of elegance and strength. Her modelling career began almost by accident, through advertising for her dance studio, but it quickly became clear she had a natural presence both on camera and on the runway.

Now represented by Royalle and pursuing a degree in Beauty, Sinclair is building a personal brand that champions confidence and individuality. Her mission is clear: to show others that beauty is more than skin deep—it is about self-love and embracing uniqueness. In an era where audiences value relatability as much as glamour, Sinclair is positioned to become both model and mentor, appealing to brands seeking authenticity.

Isabella Czarnocki: From Child Prodigy to Industry Rising Star

Few models can claim nearly two decades of experience by age 19, but Isabella Czarnocki can. Born into a Polish-Australian family and fluent in Polish, her connection to heritage is central to her identity. That cultural pride sets her apart in an industry hungry for diversity.

Czarnocki’s career began at just two years old with a Huggies campaign. At six, she walked the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week runway for Speedo, sharing the stage with Australian icons Rachael Finch and Eamon Sullivan. Such early exposure has given her both credibility and a foundation for longevity in an industry often defined by fleeting careers.

Now stepping into adulthood, Czarnocki is building on her unique résumé with the ambition of becoming an international face of fashion. She exemplifies how early talent, when combined with cultural depth, can translate into lasting success.

Erin Ford: Harnessing Adventure as a Competitive Edge

For Erin Ford, adventure isn’t just a lifestyle—it’s her brand. Raised in Sydney, the outdoors defined Ford’s formative years: farm life, horse riding, and dune buggy racing. These experiences shaped her fearlessness and adaptability, traits that translate seamlessly into modelling.

Ford’s career began in her early teens through runway competitions, but at 18, she turned professional with Royalle Modelling. Now 20, she balances her love of nature with the demands of the fashion industry, proving that a model doesn’t have to fit into one box.

Her authenticity resonates with brands seeking to connect with audiences who value lifestyle as much as looks. Ford represents a new generation of models who see adventure and ambition not as separate pursuits, but as complementary strengths.

Danika Ahern: Leading with Innovation and Inclusivity

At 26, Danika Ahern is challenging one of the industry’s longest-standing norms: the height requirement. As a petite model, she is breaking barriers in an arena that has historically overlooked women who don’t fit the traditional mould. With Spanish and Scandinavian heritage, Ahern combines cultural richness with an unyielding determination to redefine what’s possible in fashion.

But modelling is only one of her ventures. Ahern is currently studying graphic design, working on launching her own lingerie line, and writing two novels—one on domestic violence awareness and another a collection of poetry. Her recognition through a Vogue Australia scholarship underscores her credibility not only as a model but as a multifaceted creative entrepreneur.

By blending advocacy, artistry, and ambition, Ahern represents the modern model as a businesswoman—someone who uses her influence to push for inclusivity while building her own brand.

Beyond Beauty: The Business of Modern Modelling

The “Fine 5” are more than cover models. They are representatives of a broader evolution in modelling: a shift toward purpose, diversity, and entrepreneurship. Royalle Modelling has positioned itself as a platform that nurtures not just faces, but voices—women who can influence, inspire, and innovate.

Melissa Stingley shows that resilience can turn unexpected chapters into defining ones. Mia Sinclair demonstrates the power of authenticity in building confidence-driven brands. Isabella Czarnocki proves that longevity and cultural pride are assets in a global market. Erin Ford highlights how lifestyle and adventure can enrich a modelling career. And Danika Ahern is leading the charge for inclusivity while shaping her own entrepreneurial path.

Together, they embody a new definition of beauty—one that is measured not only by appearance, but by passion, determination, and impact. As they grace the December 2024 cover of StarCentral Magazine, these five women are not just representing the future of fashion. They are redefining it.

Introducing the Model Behind the Latest Cover of StarCentral Magazine: The Stunning Natarsha Haddad

At just 19, Natarsha Haddad is rewriting what it means to be a modern-day multi-hyphenate. She’s an artist. A model. A law student. A creative force whose ambition refuses to fit neatly into one box. With a mic in one hand and a law textbook in the other, she is proving that dreams don’t have to be singular—and that passion, when pursued relentlessly, can turn into something extraordinary.

Fearless, focused, and fiercely creative, Natarsha has become one of Australia’s most dynamic young talents. Her latest triumph? Being crowned Miss Runway Supermodel Australia 2025, a glittering title produced by Regal Star Productions. Not only did she secure the crown, she swept the competition—taking home Best in Swimwear and Best in Evening Gown in a clean victory that left both judges and audiences captivated.

From the Recording Studio to the Runway

Natarsha’s creative journey didn’t start under bright runway lights. It began at 13, when she started writing and producing music—penning lyrics that were unapologetically raw, bold, and real. Her unique sound caught attention early, and by 15, she was already collaborating with major global brands like Nike and JD Sports. This combination of authenticity and confidence became her trademark, allowing her to stand out not just in front of the camera, but behind the scenes as well.

Now, with the Miss Runway Supermodel Australia crown on her head and the cover of StarCentral Magazine under her belt, her influence has only grown. Her feature story dives deep into her personal evolution—from an ambitious teenager to a young woman making her mark across multiple industries.

The Winning Moment

When asked about hearing her name announced as the winner, Natarsha’s eyes light up.

“The moment they said my name, it felt like the world paused for a second,” she recalls. “I had a flash of every early morning, every blister, every dream I’d whispered to myself at 2 a.m. I wanted to laugh, cry, and do a victory twirl all at once—it was pure magic.”

A Journey of Self-Discovery

For Natarsha, entering the competition was never just about winning a title.

“I wanted to prove that confidence doesn’t come from perfection—it comes from embracing who you are, quirks and all,” she says. “This journey taught me to walk taller, think bigger, and love louder.”

The hardest part? The mental game. She admits that the level of talent around her was intimidating at times, but she learned to focus inward.

“Comparison is the thief of joy,” she says. “I’m not here to outshine anyone—just to shine in my own way.”

Advice for Aspiring Models

For those looking to follow in her footsteps, Natarsha’s advice is simple yet powerful:

“Don’t wait for permission to shine. Start where you are, use what you have, and remember—your uniqueness is your superpower. Rejection is part of the sparkle-building process. Keep learning, stay kind, and never forget that even the biggest stars started small.”

A Style All Her Own

Describing her personal style as “chic with a wink,” Natarsha blends playful elegance with fearless flair.

“Style isn’t just about what you wear—it’s how you say ‘this is me’ without speaking,” she says. “During the competition, I embraced bolder choices and learnt to trust my instincts.”

What’s Next for Natarsha Haddad

If you think this crown is the peak of her journey, think again. She’s in talks with UGG for an upcoming campaign and is set to walk on international runways, including shows in the Middle East. She’s also working on a digital series offering a behind-the-scenes look into model life and mentorship.

From the red carpet at the ARIAs to law lectures and late-night studio sessions, Natarsha Haddad is more than a model—she’s a movement. And with her combination of grit, grace, and fearless authenticity, it’s clear this is just the beginning.

A Red Carpet Adventure: Inside the Premiere of Paddington in Peru

By: Mike Ilagan

I had the privilege of attending the highly anticipated premiere and special screening of Paddington in Peru last Saturday. Held at Hoyts Cinemas in the Entertainment Quarter, the event was an unforgettable celebration of everyone’s favourite marmalade-loving bear.

The moment I arrived, I could feel the excitement in the air. Fans, families, and media members had gathered to mark Paddington’s latest adventure, and it was clear this would be something special.

The story takes us on an emotional and adventurous journey as Paddington Bear returns to his homeland of Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy at the Home for Retired Bears. Paddington still lives happily with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, spreading joy and kindness wherever he goes. But everything changes when he receives a letter from the Reverend Mother, a nun who runs the Home for Retired Bears. Aunt Lucy misses him dearly and wishes to see him again. Determined to make her wish come true, Paddington begins an epic journey.

With his new British passport in hand, Paddington is joined by the Browns, including the ever-loyal Mrs Bird, as they travel deep into the heart of Peru. Along the way, they befriend Hunter, a charming riverboat captain, and his spirited daughter Gina, who join them on their escapades through the Amazon rainforest and the breathtaking mountain peaks of Peru. The adventure is filled with twists and turns, uncovering surprising secrets about Paddington’s past. Amidst it all, themes of love, family, and self-discovery shine through, making it a heartwarming experience for audiences of all ages.

The premiere was nothing short of magical from the moment I stepped into the Entertainment Quarter. The entrance had been transformed with a red carpet that set the tone for the evening. A life-sized replica of Paddington’s iconic London taxi provided the perfect photo backdrop, and then there was Paddington himself. Seeing him make a special appearance at the media wall was a delight. Fans couldn’t resist snapping photos with the lovable bear, who charmed everyone with his antics.

Guests were treated to complimentary popcorn and drinks, which ensured no one went hungry during the screening. As if that wasn’t enough, we were given exclusive Paddington in Peru giveaways, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day.

A special thanks goes to Haseena Yaseen of Studio Canal for the kind invitation. It was indeed an honour to attend and witness the magic of Paddington’s latest adventure.

There’s something remarkable about the Paddington films—how they manage to appeal to such a wide audience. Whether you grew up with Michael Bond’s original books or are discovering Paddington for the first time, his adventures resonate across generations. Paddington in Peru continues this tradition, delivering a story that is as thrilling as it is heartwarming. The stunning visuals, particularly the vibrant depiction of Peru’s landscapes, provide a breathtaking backdrop for the narrative. The characters, both familiar and new, bring such depth and charm to the story that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

For me, the premiere of Paddington in Peru wasn’t just a screening—it was a celebration of the enduring magic of Paddington Bear. From the thoughtfully crafted event details to the emotional and adventurous storyline, the experience was unforgettable. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to Paddington’s world, this film is a must-watch. It’s a beautiful reminder of the importance of family, kindness, and embracing life’s adventures—with a marmalade sandwich or two, of course!
